A “Bit” of Looking Back – Cross Roads Methodist to Hold Revival (1965)

Revival services will begin at the Cross Roads Methodist Church, Sunday, October, 17, and will continue through Friday, October 22.  These services will be conducted daily at 7:00 p.m.

The guest evangelist for this period of evangelistic emphasis will be the Reverend Wilson H. Wieting, pastor of the Grapeland Circuit in the Palestine District of the Texas Conference.  Mr. Wieting is a native of Falls County and was graduated from Marlin High School.  He was licensed to preach by the Quarterly Conference of Perry Methodist Church in the Central Texas Conference.  He attended Blinn Junior College, Brenham Texas; Southwest Texas Teachers’ College, San Marcos; and received the B. S. degree from Texas Wesleyan College,Fort Worth; and the B. D. degree from Perkins School of Theology, S.M.U., Dallas.  Mr. Wieting has served the Millsap and Tolar Circuits in the Central Texas Conference, the Deadwood Circuit in the Texas Conference, and is serving in the seventh year at his present appointment.  He is married and has four children and three grandchildren.

J. M. Williams, a leading layman in the Trinidad Methodist Church, will lead the singing, accompanied at the piano by Miss Sandra French, also of Trinidad.

The Reverend Thomas L. Jones, pastor, extends a warm welcome to the public to attend these services.
