Bill Kirby, a native of Malakoff and son of Mr. and Mrs. Carney Kirby of this city, will fill the pulpit at the first Methodist Church here for the evening service Sunday.
Young Mr. Kirby, a graduate of SMU, with a BA degree in history and comparative literature, is preparing himself for the ministry and is currently a student at Perkins School of Theology in Dallas.
His interests at Perkins include church history, worship, Greek and philosophy. He presently is serving as M. Y. F. counselor at Glen Oaks Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas. Bill and his wife, Nancy, reside at 139 Westbrook, in that city.
The church pastor, the Rev. Thomas L. Jones, will conduct the preaching service at the morning hour. His announced topic is, “The Stewardship of Mysteries.”
