  1. The year Betty was entered in the Miss Texas Pageant I was going to Lamar Tech in Beaumont. I swelled with pride when I leaned that someone I was friends with was in the Miss Texas Pageant; and from Malakoff!! Not only was Betty in the Miss Texas Pageant, the Pageant was in Beaumont that year. I made surprise visit with her at the Pageant and she was really surprised to see someone from Malakoff there!!. She gave a delightful piano performance and displayed not only her beauty but her talent. I am enclosing a link to a Salute to the 1957 Malakoff Seniors who have passed and our friend Betty is included.
