Miss Juanita Cross Becomes Bride of Jimmie Lee Speake

The beautifully decorated home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cross at 603 E. Pine in Malakoff was the setting for the marriage of Miss Juanita Cross to Mr. Jimmie Lee Speake.
The couple united in marriage in the presence of the immediate families on Friday evening, April 7th at 8:00 o’clock with the Rev. Herman Millikan, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating.
Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Cross of Malakoff. Mr. Speake is the son of Mrs. Ralph Stewart of Athens and Mr. J. O. Speake of Lubbock.
The vows were repeated by candlelight before a setting of baskets of white chrysanthemums, gladiolas, and stock flanked by candelabra, entwined by greenery, holding white candles.
The bride was lovely in a navy silk suit accented with white accessories and a white orchid corsage.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cross, brother and sister-in-law of the bride served as honor attendants.
The reception was held in the dining room with decorations of pink and white. The bride’s table was laid with decorations of pink and white. The bride’s three-tiered cake centered on a mirror, decorated with pink rose buds, was topped with pink wedding bells and gathered lace.
Mrs. Speake is employed at the memorial Hospital in Athens and Mr. Speake is employed by the Trent Oil Company of Tyler. They are at home at 704 S. Palestine, Athens, Texas.
