Mrs. Miriam A Ferguson, former Texas governor, will again be a candidate for that office in the July primary this year. Mrs. Ferguson declares that this action on her part is in response to written requests from more than 400 friends in 200 Texas counties, that she again enter the service of the state.
The former Governor says that she is not anxious, nor will she enter into any scramble for the office, yet she does not feel that any citizen has the right to decline to render public service e in the time of need. She also confides in her friends that she is not financially able to make an extensive campaign and will have to have herself in the hands of her friends in the various counties of the state. “The chief plank in my platform,” says Mrs. Ferguson, “will be a material reduction in taxes.”
