Standing by in Tokyo, Japan awaiting the home stretch is Staff Sergeant Claudie Mullins of Malakoff.  He has completed a year’s service with the Army Air Force in the Far East and will receive his discharge on January 6, 1955, after four years of military service.Claudie Mullins Dec 10, 1954

A son of Mrs. Iva Jane Mullins of Malakoff, Claudie is married to the former Miss Charlene Douglas, who, with their two daughters, Becky 3, and Sandra 2, have been making their home here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Douglas

Sgt. Mullins, a former MHS football star in 1947-48, received his basic military air force training at the James Connelly AF Base in Waco following his enlistment on January 6, 1950.  He had previously served for 14 months in the United States Navy, receiving his discharge in October, 1949.

During his Far-East service in Korea and Japan, Sgt. Mullins has been connected with the 8th Maintenance Squadron of the Army Air Force.
