Masons Install Officers

Monday night, the local lodge of Masons held their annual installation of officers, followed by speech making and refreshments consisting of ice cream and cake.

A large number of lodge members gathered with their families and a number of visitors from other lodges, and the affair proved to be both interesting and entertaining.Logo

The following officers were installed for the ensuing year:
E. W. Noble, W.M
E. A. Hall, S.W.
W. N. Flagg, J.W.
R. E. Skiles, Sec’y
J. M. Knutson, Treas.
S. L. Boyett, Tyler

The following appointed officers were also inducted into office:
R. A. Chipley, S.D.
Alford Chapman, J.D.
H. P. Barton, S.S.
H. L. Flagg, J.S.
H. B. Laney, Chaplain

Interesting speeches were made by Judge A. B. Watkins of Athens; Judge L. J. Kimbell; and A. S. Tanner.

After the speaking, a social hour was enjoyed, during which the refreshments were served.

Veteran Mason Is Honored At Eastern Star Installation

E. A. Hall, veteran Mason of the Malakoff Masonic Lodge No. 759 A. F. & A. M. and closely approaching his 50th year in the service of the Order, was honored last Thursday evening, when the program for the annual installation of officers of the local Eastern Star was dedicated to him.

The dedication was made by his daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Bien, incoming Worthy Matron for the Malakoff Chapter No. 1012. 

Mr. Hall’s picture was included in the printed booklet program, together with the following words by Mrs. Bien, “This year is lovingly dedicated to my Dad, E. A. Hall, who is a Past Master of the Malakoff Lodge No. 759, A. F. & A. M., and is a member of the Malakoff Chapter, No. 1012, O. E. S.”

The installation service was held at Bankston Motors, local Oldsmobile agency in an open air program, and was attended by a large number of invited guests.

Installing Officer was Irene McCallister; Installing Secretary, Dorothy Harrison; Installing Marshall, Helen Chandler; Installing Chaplain, Alice Cartlidge; Installing Organist, Katherine Mead.
