Wednesday, July 4th was made a memorable day for all employees and their families of Kirby & Sons. All guests assembled early at the home of A. L. Kirby and from there, they were directed to Flagg Lake where games and boating were enjoyed throughout the day.
Two huge fish had been prepared for the lunch, and added to this were pies, cakes, salad, chicken, dressing, iced tea, etc.
The day ended too quickly, but each one present assured the host that the day had been one of pleasure, and that the days of preparation he had made were not in vain.
Out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. McWilliams and family of McKinney, Miss Mary Kirby of Greenville, and Miss Alice Parkhill of Llano.
