After a lingering illness, Will Boyett passed into the beyond last Friday night. He has been a patient sufferer for years, although not confined to his home continuously. He had been the manager of the Malakoff Mercantile Co. for a number of years until the first of the present year, when he tendered his resignation. The funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the residence by his pastor, Rev. T. C. Sharp, and interment followed in the Malakoff cemetery.

Mr. Boyett was born in Washington Parish, La., Nov. t, 1866, and came to Texas with his parents in 1869, settling near Malakoff in 1871. June 3, 1901, he was married to Miss Nettie Owens, who with their daughter, Miss Alpha, survive him. Besides these are his father, S. L. Boyett of Malakoff; two brothers, Tex of Payne Springs and Doc of Purdon; sister, Mrs. Lilla Walker of Athens. The services at the grave were in charge of the local Masonic lodge of which the deceased was a member.
